Large Pocket Query - break it up?

Postby fkamprad » Fri Jan 29, 2010 11:27 am

I don't understand how to split a large pocket query using percentages as described below:
You may wish to expand your up-to-date caching area beyond 500 caches. This can be accomplished easily by breaking your "Caches I haven't found" PQ into multiple PQs. Although it may differ somewhat by region, you can use the container type typical breakdown:

* 37% Micro
* 27% Regular
* 27% Small
* 5% Not Chosen
* 4% Other, Virtual, and Large

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

The percentages just give an idea for the typical breakdown of caches. Those are based on all the geocache data in the bcaching database and may not be exactly the same for a given region, but it should be similar.

So instead of having one PQ for a location that gives you only 500 caches, you can run two PQs that give you 1000 caches covering a larger area by creating one PQ for regular and small containers only (about 54% of the caches) and 2nd PQ for all the other container types.

Or you can setup three PQs that give you 1500 caches by creating one PQ for Micros, one for Regulars and Not Chosen, and one for Small, Other, Virtual, and Large.

Does that help?
